Anupad is QUEST’s level based programme for children from grade 5 to 8 who are trailing behind their grade levels in literacy and Mathematics. It operates in response to the observed reality that children in the same grade can be at widely varying achievement levels and are likely in need of inputs at different levels. The program assesses the achievement level of children through specially designed diagnostic tests. The level established by the tests roughly corresponds with the instructional needs of the child. After the testing Children with similar achievement level are grouped together for some period of time (normally 45 minutes per subject per day) so that they receive focused inputs.
The input to children has been designed taking into account the pace and age maturity of these children. QUEST has developed a series of booklets named ‘Saksham Banu Ya’ that helps teachers to implement the program in somewhat semi structured manner. Along with the booklets a rich classroom library and certain teaching learning material for mathematics is provided as an integral part of the program implementation.
