QUEST participates in 'Aakar' for Early Childhood Education

Government of Maharashtra and UNICEF have developed a state-wide curriculum for Early Childhood Education, for children in the age group of 3-6 years. Named ‘Aakar’, this curriculum is designed by a committee which has members with many years of experience in ECE. Aakar will be implemented at 3 levels simultaneously – urban, rural and tribal – in the Anganwadis run by the state. QUEST’s experience and insights from the ‘Ankur’ program have been used in designing Aakar. QUEST’s team members attended a workshop to understand the Aakar model in August 2015. These team members are now participating as resource persons in the training programs for Anganwadi teachers in tribal areas. One such training program was conducted on November 23-28, 2015. QUEST’s Palika More and Bhavana Patil participated as trainers.
